 Title: Morning sun in the trees
Morning sun in the trees. Light is a painter’s obsession. Its natural expression, the sun, is one of its more violent embodiment. Some artists have searched for it on faces, on clothes, like the spanish painter Sorolla. Some others have confronted is face to face, directly, like Turner or some of the italian futurist artists. The fight is hard, because they had to face not slight and smooth rays of light, coming from the canvas edges, but a rude source that engulf everything it runs through. To be protected from it, the foliage is a pictural and metaphoric means. The branches allow the light to be scattered, toned down. The sun glares dissolve shapes and lines. The trees’s foliage are like snags on the way of the light, elements that make the powerful sunlight impossible to express itself fully.This vital light that goes through the trees, it is to me the expression of life’s energy. An energy that despite all the difficulties encountered in one’s life, allows us to follow our path with passion. Is embodies in that way the everlasting hope of thinking that our life has a meaning.
